Capturing the creative spirit of artists performing together is the heart of what we do. Having a room that provides total isolation for each performer is what distinguishes Analog Chew’s live room from most others.
History teaches us a valuable lesson: Never underestimate the power of a live performance in a room as the foundation of a great recording. Sure, you can build on the initial performance–overdubs, additional parts and sweetening–but like most great, classic recordings–without the energy and dynamics of a tight band playing altogether–you can lose the magic that made you a kick-ass band or inspirational artist in the first place. Capturing the dynamics and subtleties of a group performance is foundational to our process. Now, once that magic is captured, the sky’s the limit when building your next masterpiece. It could be a down n’ dirty basement, a multistory, full-blown production or anything in between that your heart desires.
We fuse vintage and new analog gear with 2-inch tape and Pro Tools HD Native. Hitting tape on the way into Pro Tools is the fat in the Analog Chew sound. Fundamentally, it’s more pleasing to the human ear.
Our hybrid of analog gear and the power of Pro Tools editing creates a classic sound you’ll like better than working “in the box” alone. Even when mixing, running your tracks back through a great sounding console and high-end analog gear makes an audible difference that we’ve tested and confirmed. Mixes sound fuller and bigger–the stereo field–wider for a sound closer to the classic recordings you know and love. We’ve blind tested hitting tape first verses tracking straight to Pro Tools and have found that clients choose going to tape first hands down. And even though analog is in our name, Analog Chew is equipped with the most robust digital rig in town with Apogee Symphony AD/DA converters and the fastest 6-core Mac totally maxed with RAM and storage.

An award-winning advertising, graphic design and branding veteran, Jerry Sisti has finally acted on his lifelong dream of opening a recording studio. Analog Chew is the result of many years of research, planning and hard work along with a lifetime of passion. As Jerry continues to hone his engineering chops, he has in the meantime had the good sense to get out of the way of real pros who are infinitely more capable of creating top-tier recordings and helping him carry out his vision of a high-quality, affordable and accessible recording studio. Jerry opened Analog Chew as a place for artists where their dreams are always within reach.
